1640 Three members of the Congregation of Notre Dame left their Luxembourg convent to open the first convent of the Congregation in Germany, at Trier. In 1733 the house at Stadtamhof was founded from Luxembourg as well. (Mother Theresa was taught by sisters of this congregation when she was a child growing up in Stadtamhof.)
1847 At about 4:00 in the morning, Mother Theresa Gerhardinger with Sister M. Seraphina von Pronath, M. Barbara Weinzierl, M. Magadalene Steiner, M. Carolina Friess and Novice M. Emmanuela Breitenbach left Munich for the United States. Father Siegert accompanied them as far as Eichstatt.
2015 Pope Francis’ Encyclical, Laudato Si’, on Care of our Common Home, was officially released . It was Pentecost Sunday.
