International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict

 

1847    Sister M. Caroline Friess, on her way to the United States, said goodbye to her family at Eichstatt. Her mother refused to give her, her blessing.

1977    John Nepomucene Neumann, C.SS.R. (1811-1860) was canonized in Rome by Pope Paul VI. He had helped Mother Theresa establish the congregation in North America.
